In the Picture - March

On the road to 52 self portraits in the year.

52 self portraits in Photography that is - but I decided to mix it up a bit and do a self portrait painting for {{In the Picture}} this month.  Also, today is Paint Party Friday and I am trying to do a painting a week for that.  So why not aim high and try for a combo this month!? 
These two goals seem a bit lofty but I am finding that I am managing to stay with them. 
March had been a good month for me. The weather has been unusually wet around here, which would normally weigh me down. However, it has translated to lots of quality indoor time in my studio just happily painting away. It also means that my selfies were indoor ones with the exception of one.
In the Picture
I did actually get a good outdoor photo day.  I took a load of cameras and the dog to the beach and it was challenging to say the least.  There was WAY too much to carry and manage the dog too.  But, in the end - it was good.  And, there was a nice quiet moment when the dog was back in the car.  It was a just end to my day.

And, if you are wondering... yes, the opening painting photo is tweaked a little.  But, I liked it better that way.  I have to figure out how to paint like that in its all Pop Art-y goodness.

    I like your altering of the prompt to kill two birds with one stone. I have several friends doing PPF but haven't felt like joining. It's been raining here too and haven't felt like taking the camera out.

    I would think that doing 52 self portraits would be quite interesting
    though todays youth take photos of themselves daily, part of their lives and right up on the internet those photos go. I love all your portraits, they are wonderful!

    I love this post. Your painting is very appealing-and that shot with the yellow you used for the linky-I think that's my favorite. Your 2nd image is a great pose with beautiful lighting. Great series!

    Marji, these are great! I love your painted self-portrait - and since you photographed and post-processed it, I think it counts any way you look at it. I love the sweater and boots shot - such great light and a nice, casual pose.

    I have been enjoying PPF too. Its great to share and see what other people are doing with their creativity. Thank you for popping over and leaving a kind comment. I love your self-portrait. (I had to giggle at the thought of you loading up with dog and multiple cameras for a visit to the beach. Sounds like an adventure for sure!)

    Looking at that portrait is like looking at your reflection from one of those photos. Fantastic job especially on the details of your facial features. Also I LOVE that chair you're sitting in.
